The Birth of Football and the Origins of Manchester City

I’m going to be starting a new serialization next week, which will chart City’s evolution from 1880 to 1894.

Based on new research, it will place the club’s birth and early development into the wider context of the origins of the game itself.

Hopefully it will settle a few disagreements about our formative years, or at least prompt some informed debate.
